alhamdulillah...after 2 years attending Kiwanis, Iyad has progressed very well and he is now advancing to the toddler lass next year... for the toddler class, it will be 3 times a week and 2 and half hour each session..parents are not allowed in the classroom...it's only the children with the teachers...
so before the next session starts, iyad attended the transition class held during the school holiday.. it was run over 3 weeks (9 classes in total) but we missed the first week as we went balik kampung...
so iyad was having separation and stranger anxiety on the first day of school...i was allowed in the class on the first day..stayed with him until midway... but when he realized i was not around he started to cry...during snack time, he did not eat what i put in his bag (he was just looking around at his friends eating their food) maybe he didn't like what i prepared for him - a banana and a pack of baby biscuit...
the second day, i just left him with the teachers...well he cried throughout the first session and stopped when started doing the fine motor exercise and some art and crafts activity.. that's an improvement..and he started crying again when he saw me at the door at the end of the class..
iyad has shown some improvement during the second week..although he still have the separation anxiety, he was able to control his emotion when they did the activities that he likes...and snack time has become more enjoyable too...he loves taking oat biscuits or granola bars during snack time..
the last day of the class, he just cried for a while at the beginning..and later he was enjoying himself during the activities..at the end of the class, instead of crying when the teacher opened the door, he was eagerly running towards the door to look for us...
now, it's a one week break before the session starts again on 5th January..hopefully, the separation anxiety is less or gone by then...
