week 20- short family vacation and seafood...and more food

an impromtu vacation plan has been made and we're heading to Golden Palm Tree Resort & Spa for a 2d1n treat..we booked 2 water villas side by side and they were quite spacious...the scenery was picturesque and there were many fun activities can be done..but being pregnant, i have to forget about kayaking, cycling or go karting (just because i'm too lazy to do it and due to the sacroiliac joint pain)...but we managed to have some fun moments taking turns flying the kite and jihan had fun splashing on the beach...imtiaz had fun playing with the sand and both of them had great time splashing and swimming in the swimming pool...the kids enjoyed themselves being transported in the buggy around the resort...

we had fresh seafood for dinner and even bought some fresh fish and crabs from the market nearby to take home the next morning...the crabs were so juicy and young, i even can chew and swallow the whole crab like the soft-shell crab...

on one of the days, we brought jihan to the dentist to have her front tooth removed as he permanent tooth was already visible behind her milk tooth...it was her 2nd experience and she went through it well...we brought home the tooth and put it in a container...we told imtiaz that if he doesn't brush his teeth, he'll end up like kakak having the tooth pulled out...so, imtiaz has been good to brush his teeth at bath time, fearing having his teeth being pulled out...

i had my antenatal check up again, my weight has increased to 56.6kg...everything was fine and the ultrasound confirmed that it's an XY...he weighed about 440g now and moving around vigorously, kicking all over the places...i had difficulty to have a comfortable sleep at night due to his kicking activities...

my other half is attending a seminar in the heart of kuala lumpur and due to the far distance from home and the massive rally scheduled on the weekend, we decided to book a room at the Sunway Putra Hotel for 3 days - just me, hubby and imtiaz..jihan had school to attend but she is joining her atok and wan and makngah to melaka as the masterchef is having a cooking demo at mahkota parade that weekend..

we had relaxing moment (but quite bored though being stuck in our 1-bedroom apartment) but i enjoyed their buffet breakfast so much...imtiaz watched so much of disney channel over that 3 days and enjoying himself playing with his toy cars..we managed to see the KL International Book Fest at PWTC for about 40 min before imtiaz threw his tantrum and wanted to go home...managed to grab few books and magazines for the kids only...

week 19- imtiaz started joining the playgroup and more food

we've been delaying in registering imtiaz for his playgroup session...as far as i can remember, jihan started joining playgroup session when she was 2+...we enrolled both of them in the same playgroup, the ALIM Kids with the same teacher, teacher farra..jihan was the first group to join the session when it was established in Bangi way back in 2007...although imtiaz was quite excited to go to school and meet some new friends, imtiaz has some fright towards loud sound, music and even loud cheers, so both me and hubby were kind of anticipating some unexpected drama from him...

imtiaz's artwork
as expected, imtiaz was quite stunned when he listened to the loud music...he remained statued when the others started dancing and moving around...he was trying to adapt and adjust to the environment and at times he was feeling bored and sleepy...during art and craft session, he wanted to draw cars and airplane on the paper given when he was supposed to do some decorating and pasting on it...jihan was there to help him and we taught him to listen to the teacher and follow the instructions...

when he went home, i sang to him some familiar songs from the session and he started dancing to the tunes, hoping that he will be more engaged to the activities in the next session..

i also had a wonderful time having lunch with my ex roommate during my undergrad days (before i got married) and another great buddy at our favorite spot in bandar sri permaisuri..we had tom yam and butter prawn (the best ever butter prawn we've ever tasted) and kerabu mangga...apart from eating yummy food, of course there were some gossips in between and updating each other on what-i-know and what-you-don't and other stuffs...

sushi...yummy
and i finally got to eat japanese food at alamanda..we chose sushi set for 2 and it was satisfying and made me extremely full...i ate some of the raw things though, hoping that it won't cause any damage to me and the baby of course..when i was pregnant with imtiaz, we ate quite a number of time of sushi at our favorite's japanese restaurant but according to my sister, it has changed its name a few times and the sushis were getting smaller and smaller and not worth going...and alhamdulillah, i enjoyed sushi so much and both imtiaz and i were fine...

so what's next...everybody in the family has been busy with our own commitments and it's time to take a break together...who's going to pay for it..? the MasterChef laa... hehehe...

week 18- food, food, food...

i have very large appetite nowadays...remember about the woodfire pizza i craved for last week..? yes, my Masterchef sister and mum made stone baked pizza for dinner and subsequently the leftover dough was kept in the fridge and we had 3 consecutive days of pizza and now i'm sick of it.. : (

anyhow, homemade pizzas are always the best...jihan even made her own pizza by putting whatever ingredients she wanted to be on it...she was so excited to help around as well...

we also made nasi arab and really like the taste of it..the fresh mint leaves and coriander leaves add to the aroma and flavors to it...i was able to eat the dish repeatedly until i was really full...it was easy to make and tasted wonderful...

and i've been craving for Black Canyon's tom yum for so long (since they've closed down their outlet in Alamanda for renovation)...hubby and i went to another outlet in Jusco Maluri to have our favourite's- the tom yum, paprik rice and coffee (1 serving of coffee per day should be fine for pregnant mothers)... i also bought some tako tao (japanese snacks) and a piece of hawaiian pizza from the baker nearby....

my baby has been enjoying the food that i ate and i've been starting taking milk and prenatal vitamins (even though not everyday) for my well being and also my little ones in my tummy...

i haven't got to eat japanese food yet though...hmm...what else..?

i've registered imtiaz to a playgroup so that he will socialize more and make himself ready for school next year...he will start his session next week...we'll see how he gets along...

week 17- i like to move it, move it...

week 17..i'm treasuring my pregnancy moments very much, although i'm busy and stressed up at the moment...need to meet some deadlines, especially to finish recruiting patients for my breastfeeding project (need 210 patients)..so, i'm at my 5th gear now and had been going to the hospital everyday (including weekends) to look for them...yes, it was tiring to do the talking, some bit of counseling, answering uncertainties and reassuring the new mothers that they are able to breastfeed their newborns...not forgetting my aching feet and buttock due to the sacroiliitis that i'm suffering....but at the end of the day i felt satisfied and happy for being able to help them out...

i've been craving to eat woodfire pizza and managed to drag dear hubby to get one..although it was not really to my likings, it was fine...but i was determined to get a really good pizza (or make one in one of these days or i can beg my Masterchef sister to make one for me)...

and to my surprise, i've been having lots of fluttering sensation in my tummy...at first, i thought of the prominent peristalsis movement of my bowels, but when it got too frequent  and regular now i know it's the little boy moving..yeay! and he had been dancing, tossing around, kicking actively and sometime causing some discomfort while i was sitting or lying down...and he responded well to our voices (especially when i screamed to jihan and imtiaz when they were getting on my nerves) and also when i read the quran...imtiaz as usual loves to put his face on my tummy (and my breasts as well) to show his love to his little brother...

pic google-ed
i've been eating quite generous servings lately, however my weight was actually static around 55-56kg...people started to realize that I'm pregnant as my tummy was quite prominent now....and i've been recycling the maternity clothes over and over again and i'm out of choice what to wear...time for a new wardrobe, maybe..? but i don't have the urge to do some shopping spree for myself or even for the baby...that will save some money *wink*...

hope to finish recruiting patients for my breastfeeding project soon and moving on to some other tasks as well..
